Texas Tech University Biology Professor Michael Dini is being charged with religious bigotry because of his completely up-front policy of refusing to write letters of recommendations for students who can't scientifically answer the question ""How do you account for the scientific origin of the human species?" (Oh, you better also be an A student, and someone he knows)
Right on Dini! I agree that being a creationist and being a good scientist don't mix. Aside from that, a professor has the right to refuse to give a recomendation for any reason, yes, even a whim. I would feel a lot more comfortable if I knew for a fact that all of my doctors were card carrying evolutionists.
In fact, it's quite depressing that he even has to make this policy. It should be assumed that if you're planning on going to grad-school in the biological sciences or medical school that you don't subscribe to mystical anti-science notions.
